The wait-list for this sold-out meet will be ready for sign-ups starting Sunday, November 16, sometime between 11:00am and 11:30am Pacific Time. When it becomes available, there will be an “Add to Waitlist” link available on the Eventbrite registration page for the meet. (Remember to click “Refresh” if watching the page in that half-hour.) When you click on the “Add to Waitlist” link, you will go to a page on which to enter your name and Email address. Names will be added to the list in the order in which users submit that name-and-Email form.
There is no cost to get on the wait-list. When spots become available, users at the top of the list (based exclusively on order of signing up) will receive Email messages with links that will allow them to register for the Championships. Note that each link will expire 24 hours after being sent to the “wait-lister” (whether or not the recipient ever opens the Email message). If that person does not complete registration using the link within the link’s 24-hour lifespan then the lifter will be moved to the bottom of the list, and the next person on the list will receive a chance to enter. Keep an eye on Email Inboxes (and Spam folders) once you are on the wait-list!
Well, folks… at 4:50pm pacific time today, we got our 300th registrant. Stand by for updates within the next few days on how to get on a wait-list to take the places of lifters who have to withdraw.
With the distribution of ages, it looks like some people much younger than originally thought will have to lift on Thursday and Friday. But here is some good news about that: we should be able to set the days of lifting for everyone when the meet is still months away! This will allow people to make work and travel arrangements far in advance. Expect more information on that here as well.
Lifters who plan to attend the 2015 Annual Meeting of USA Masters Weightlifting on Saturday evening, April 11, can now purchase dinner tickets via this link. Lifters who already purchased dinners along with their entries can confirm receipt of their orders on the same page.
The authoritative list of meets that lifters can use to qualify for the 2015 National Masters Championships is the “Events & Results” page at USA Weightlifting. Scan through those pages to find a meet near you. And make sure to check that list regularly, as competitions can get added to it with as little as ten days’ notice.
Not being sure how many people would use the on-line entry method and how many would prefer to mail paper entries, we initially withheld about 90 spots so that those without Internet access (or confidence) would have the chance to mail in the paper entry forms from the Masters Newsletter. Through the month of October and into early November, we will return batches of those reserved spots to the on-line registration site on a regular basis. But for about the first month, we do not want to give too much of an advantage to the “wired” lifters. By the end of November, the “Remaining” total listed on the Registration Form will reflect accurately the number of spots ultimately available.
The site’s information is now set, and competitors can enter via the links at “Entry Information.”
The Hotel section now has reservation links available for use. The deadline for making a reservation is March 18, 2015.
While much of the site has come together, some of the pages contain information from the 2012 American Masters that has not yet been updated with current information for the 2015 National Masters. Do not use any of the information on the Entry Information page yet, as there are still a couple of edits to be made there!
